How this calculator works

The calculator uses FV = P × [((1+i)ⁿ − 1) ÷ i] × (1+i), where P is the monthly amount, i is the monthly return (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of months. It assumes a constant return and an instalment at the start of each month.

Frequently asked questions

What is a SIP?

A Systematic Investment Plan lets you invest a fixed amount in a mutual fund at regular intervals, usually monthly.

Are SIP returns guaranteed?

No. Market-linked returns vary. The expected return you enter is an assumption, so the result is only an estimate.

What return rate should I use?

Use a conservative figure and try a few. Past returns of a fund do not guarantee future results.
