How this calculator works

To add GST: GST = amount ร— rate รท 100. To remove GST from an inclusive price: net = price ร— 100 รท (100 + rate). For intra-state sales, GST splits equally into CGST and SGST. Since 22 September 2025 the main slabs are 5%, 18% and 40%, with 0.25% and 3% for special items; 12% and 28% are kept here only for older invoices.

Frequently asked questions

Which GST rate applies to my product?

It depends on the item or service classification (HSN or SAC code). Check the current GST rate schedule or ask your accountant.

What are CGST and SGST?

For sales within a state, GST is split equally between the Centre (CGST) and the State (SGST). For sales between states, IGST applies instead.

Were the GST slabs changed?

Yes. From 22 September 2025 the 12% and 28% slabs were replaced, leaving 5%, 18% and a 40% rate for luxury and sin goods.
